Group of small islands located off the West coast of Africa, Cape Verde introduces you to volcanic mountain peaks, water sport facilities and sandy beaches. Cape Verde is in many ways like Canary Islands, another holiday paradise off the African coast. Yet the islands are much less burdened with mass tourism, and carry an African tradition which makes this former Portuguese colony a unique and fascinating travel destination, a pearl of the African west coast. Cape Verde is a new golf destination, with some facilities for playing under the African sun available. At present the most popular golf course of the islands is located in Sao Vicente, and has 18 holes. However, a new major golf course is being built in Santiago Island. The course is going to have 36 holes, and according to local plans it is going to draw golfers from around the world to test its facilities.
